Laboratory Technician - Spain

Job description

Omniscope is a TechBio whose proprietary high throughput (1M cells/sample) single-cell TCR/BCR sequencing technology makes it possible to build a global biobank of our immune systems at unprecedented speed, serving as an unprecedented powerful platform for therapeutic discovery and preventive health.

The candidate will be part of the Omniscope Experimental group situated in Parc Científic of Barcelona. They will be involved in day-to-day laboratory work and responsible for sample preparation, including performing emerging sequencing protocols in a highly collaborative and international work environment.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Carry out research experiments
  • Processing samples in a BSL2/BSL3 environment
  • Isolate and prepare cell suspensions from tissues
  • Prepare sequencing libraries
  • Coordinate submission of sequencing samples
  • Perform QC analyses
  • Maintain laboratory stocks
  • Keep comprehensive laboratory work records/ reports
  • Maintain the LIMS system
  • Coordinating the maintenance of laboratory equipment calibration and servicing, inventory of reagents, cell lines and samples.
  • Keep updated with the current literature

Qualifications

  • MSc required
  • Background in biology, molecular biology, genetics and immunology
  • Broad experience in working in a BSL2/BSL3
  • Extensive experience in cell/tissue culture
  • Experience in processing human cell samples
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation
  • Experience in single cell technology
  • Knowledge of sequencing technologies
  • Broad experience in molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Proven ability to perform and write new protocols
  • Proven ability to write experimental reports
