Job description
Omniscope is a biotech startup that scans the immune system through simple, non-invasive clinical tests to broadly detect diseases at the earliest stages. Omniscope generates deep profiles of T-cell and B-cell receptor repertoires, providing a high-resolution profile of immune specificities and dynamics in clinical areas, such as infection, vaccination, as well as cell- and immunotherapy in cancer.
We are actively seeking a Junior Computational Product Scientist to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional growth opportunity for a highly scientific and driven recent graduate who is passionate about translating cutting-edge immunology and bioinformatics into real-world impact within the biotechnology industry. As a key scientific partner to our business development efforts, you will provide deep technical expertise, support product and R&D initiatives, and engage directly with leading clinicians, researchers, and scientific collaborators.
This role is designed for an individual with a strong foundational understanding of immunology, an analytical mindset, and a clear commitment to a career in industry.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Act as a scientific resource for the business development team, providing in-depth technical answers to complex questions from academic and clinical partners.
- Engage in scientific outreach, presenting Omniscope's technology and capabilities to Biotech, Pharma, clinicians, hospital systems, and research institutions.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including project development, grant writing, and the development of consortia to expand research capabilities and partnerships.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements in immunology, genomics, and relevant clinical areas, applying this knowledge to market analysis and strategic planning.
- Participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and events to represent Omniscope and foster collaborations.
- Support product development and R&D teams and inform about market needs, and assess scientific rigor of Omniscope's offerings.
- Assist in the drafting and review of scientific publications, white papers, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- (mandatory) Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related scientific field from Ivy League institution.
- (mandatory) Master's degree or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Candidates with an industry-focused Master's or Ph.D. program, including internships or industry placements, are highly encouraged.
- 0-3 years of professional experience, with a strong, demonstrated desire to pursue a long-term career in the biotech industry, deploying products in real-world clinical settings (nice to have).
- Practical understanding of immunology concepts, including T-cell and B-cell biology, immune repertoires, and immune response mechanisms.
- Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and technical information clearly and concisely to diverse, highly scientific audiences.
- Experience with scientific writing, including contributions to research papers, reports, or grant applications.
- Familiarity with grant application processes and a keen interest in exploring public funding avenues and building collaborative consortia. (nice to have)
- A scientific mindset with a problem-solving approach to R&D, drug development, clinical trials, and customer relationships.

- Exceptionally strong scientific rigor and intellectual curiosity.
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong data interpretation skills.
- Mandatory previous experience with NGS and single-cell sequencing methods.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging in high-level scientific discussions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new scientific areas and industry best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining scientific relationships.
- Enthusiastic and motivated to contribute to a fast-paced startup environment.
- English as a first language or bilingual.
- Familiarity with Python, R, and Bash coding languages.
- Familiarity with computational tools for sequencing technologies.
Location and travel
US-based role with occasional travel for scientific conferences, collaborations, and client meetings.
